Julie has been working at Arcata Animal Hospital since the beginning of 2004 as an assistant to our doctors. She is originally from Memphis, TN, but moved to this area in order to attend Humboldt State University. Julie graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Biology, and plans to continue her education at either University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine or the Oregon State Vet School. Accourding to Julie, companion animals need love and compassion from their human counterparts. She enjoys working at the hospital because she is able to care for many types of animals and is able to get to know them and their personalities. Away from the hospital, Julie enjoys spending time at the beach and at home with her two dogs, Sadie and Pocahontes. Her two feline companions include Yoda, the orange tabby, and Gizmo, the long-haired tabby cat.
